Who We Are

By combining deep sector knowledge and a collaborative dynamic team, Wa’ed harnesses potential business ideas and cultivates an atmosphere that empowers a new generation of entrepreneurs in the Kingdom.

Our History

When surveying a nation’s progress, one only needs to find the pivot where the past bends into the future while standing in the present. Surrounding us is an archive recounting the legacies of the men and women who built and nurtured the heart of a nation; ahead lays the promise for more. At the pivot is an oscillation between days gone and days to come; a surreal viewpoint where one witnesses the jewels of Saudi Arabia’s founding era, and where one can lay the structure to its upcoming golden days, to birth this generation's aspirations.

Saudi Aramco, the world’s leading oil company, has played a pivotal role in the nation’s epic journey. With the first discoveries of wealth buried deep beneath the ground, Saudi Aramco has been at the forefront of economic development. The company’s local industrial development efforts spanning from the late 1950’s through the 1990’s led to the creation of sustainable local enterprises. These enterprises are among the largest in a variety of industries today and have created tens of thousands of jobs.

This progress, showcased in the past few decades, demonstrates how entrepreneurs are one of the main driving forces behind economic diversification, innovation, and job creation. Hence, Saudi Aramco has recognized an even greater, more invaluable natural resource, one that flourishes above ground: People.

Long before its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Saudi Aramco created a legacy of prominent social responsibility practices. In November of 2011, adhering to its reputable strategy of promoting progress and innovation, and in compliance with its social responsibility focus, Saudi Aramco established its entrepreneurship center, Wa’ed. The center’s aim is to continue enhancing Saudi Aramco’s social contribution as it supports the Kingdom’s comprehensive economic development.

Wa’ed, Arabic from promising, draws inspiration from the potential of our tomorrows; investing in the present for a brighter, more prosperous future led by driven, passionate entrepreneurs who are a living testimony of this nation’s true wealth.

Wa’ed, where the future is promising.
